CBD vs. THC
Not everyone understands the difference between THC and CBD. While CBD and THC are both cannabinoids, CBD does not have the same psychoactive effects as THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). This means taking CBD won’t make you feel “high.” It’s also available over-the-counter in most states.
The 3 Types of CBD: Full-Spectrum, Broad-Spectrum, and Isolate

Also known as whole plant CBD, full-spectrum CBD contains trace amounts of THC, but not enough to make a consumer feel “high.”
Broad-spectrum CBD is similar to full-spectrum CBD, except that it does not contain any THC.
The process for manufacturing broad-spectrum CBD is very similar to that of full-spectrum CBD, except that broad-spectrum oils go through an additional refinement process. During this refinement process, the manufacturer removes all traces of THC compounds.
While this leaves other beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes intact, it creates a product devoid of THC. As such, it’s a nice middle-ground between CBD isolates and full-spectrum CBD products.
As the name would suggest, CBD isolate is CBD that is isolated from the cannabis plant’s other compounds. To make CBD isolate, manufacturers extract CBD concentrate from the cannabis plant. From there, it goes through a “winterization process.”
This process extracts remaining terpenes, cannabinoids, and waxes from the mixture. The result of this process is an incredibly pure product. In fact, most CBD isolates are up to 99% pure CBD.
If your priority is avoiding THC in your isolate products, ask to see lab reports. Reputable manufacturers will supply these for you to prove the isolate contains no THC.
